JUST ADDED: Two WINEMAKER DINNERS on THURSDAY, JUNE 5
- Four Rhone Rangers corralled by Dave McIntyre at CHARLIE PALMER STEAK
High-riding wine gurus Jason Hass (Tablas Creek), Ethan Lindquist (Qupe), Barbara Smith (Ken Volk) and Gary Van Ostrand (Bonny Doon) posse up to present a standout 4-course wine dinner showcasing 10 wines plus a special interview segment with Dave McIntyre (Washington Post wine editor). This wow-factor dinner will have you talking for months! More than just “making wine" from Rhone varietals, these sagacious pioneers recognized distinct similarities in what matters most - terroir. Vineyards like Bien Nacido give rise to cool-climate expressions that favor comparison to the Northern Rhone. Other vineyard locations cue more to Chateuneuf-du-Pape with limestone soils and rugged terrain. Like the Rhone Valley, Paso Robles is vast and provides a diverse range of growing conditions.
Dave McIntyre will lead a lively pre-dinner discussion with these unique and passionate individuals. Over four courses, you will dine with them as they progress from table-to-table. Through ten wines, you will explore their interpretations of varietal expression and vineyard location. Space is limited. Book early. Tickets: $150 (incl. tax and gratuity). To Book call Charlie Palmer: 202-547-8100
- Winemaker Dinner at WILLOW RESTAURANT (Arlington VA)
True to its founding principles, the winemaker dinner at Willow will be an informal and relaxing evening with Rhone Ranger winemakers at a walk-around affair where small plates will be paired with specific wines. Chef-Owners Tracy O’Grady and Kate Jansen are known for their modern continental style using the freshest American ingredients with classic French and Italian influences. The dinner will feature Michael David, Ridge Vineyards, Treana/Hope, Two Shepherds and Wrath. Tickets: $70 plus tax and gratuity and may be purchased by calling 703 465-8800.
